My Career: Industrial Engineering

The career I chose for my life is industrial engineering that this race has a very large field of employment and you can perform any job within a company, besides industrial engineering in the Sabana University, is very complete, it has material from ethics, to systems, which means that we are teaching all subjects that may exist in a company.

The history of engineering begins with Sir Richard Arkwright (1732-1792) in England who invented the spinning-wheel mechanic. He created and established what was probably the first system of administrative control to regulate the production and work of employees of the factories.

Subsequently, other developers of industrial engineering in the world were Frederick W.Taylor, Henri Fayol, Harrington Emerson and Henry Ford, father of modern assembly line used for mass production.

My important person

The person that I admire is my mother; her name is Gladys Josefa Suarez. I admire my mother because she is a great person and she has lived many incredible experiences in her live besides that her personality is unique and spontaneous.

She has done many things, but the most thing I admire about her is to has had all her four kids and has given them school and university. Nowadays she works at Bancolombia’s bank that is how she is always planning and having dreams for future. My mother lived before in Puerto Boyacá and her live in Bogotá was very difficult but she has told me that she never gave up. For Gladys is very important her family because she has been working for them and for her own success.  She also loves to spend her time travelling with her family every year to some place of Colombia. She hopes to finish soon with Colombia and continues with other countries.

My mother works Monday through Friday at the bank, everyday she wakes up at 5:30am, while she prepares her breakfast she also dresses up and gets ready. She works in the tax sector and she is always supervising other people, at 12 pm she goes to take lunch with my father and after this she returns to work, her work finishes at 5 pm, when she arrives at home she prepares dinner and also watches tv.

Her plans for future are to get her pension and to be able to open her own shop. She also would love to come back to Puerto Boyacá with her family by the other hand she wants to see me graduated from university and so she will be happy to have gotten what she wanted for me. 

Anecdote

I remember I was playing soccer with my friends in the university, were playing near the restaurant, but decided to go on the pitch and play there. When we arrived at the court I found a clock on the bow and he thought someone had forgotten, however, picked it up and keep him. Immediately a man came asking for the clock, then returned it and thanked me very happy man.

First trip with my girlfriend !

I remember my first trip with my girlfriend to Villavicencio in summer holidays, with her mother and office friends.

we went in coach to Villavicencio because we didnt have a lot of money, however, we stayed in nice hotel called Don Beto; in the morning, we went to lake in outside to Villavicencio where we swimming until 5 o´clock. on night we traveled in a "chiva" mind while we danced in this coach until one party in a club called "capachos".

this trip was very important for me, because my girlfriend and me share good moments and we were very happy´s
